Minutes from the 9/22/09 Board of Directors Meeting
1. Equipment/Uniforms
Uniforms have not yet been turned in by the following managers: Spirito, Madden, Barrett and Whitney
Madden was allowing the high school team to borrow his equipment for their Fall Ball season
We started with 160 dozen baseballs. There are 70 dozen Diamond and 10 dozen Rawlings practice balls remaining
2. Spring/Summer seasons 2009
There were 10 teams last year for the Spring season and 7 Summer teams
The numbers from Hingham Little League and Hull are needed for those 13s coming into the league next year
Scheduling games around AAU schedules, perhaps later on the weekends, was discussed
The HHBR charter had been modified to include Cohasset. Cohasset 13s and 14s play Senior Little League but the 15s don't have any league to play in
3. Newspaper Notice
Leo will put a notice re: the HHBR Annual Meeting on 10/26/09 in the Hingham Journal and Cohasset newspaper. The notice will include the need for board members and officer positions, the ages of players (13-15) and the new inclusion of 15 year old Cohasset players (birthdates between 5/1/94 and 4/30/95)
4. Treasurer's Report/Sponsorships
There is currently $9,820.16 in the account which does not include the $400 in sponsor money coming from AMortgage.
Leo will draft a letter to Hingham Lumber for past due sponsorship money. The Sons of Italy have paid.
$2,650 was received in sponsorship money for 2009. $3,400 was received in 2008. In 2009, there were 2 fewer teams than 2008.
Frank will send a check for $25 to the Rec for use of the facility for the BOD meeting of 9/22/09
5. October Annual Meeting
A new registrar/player agent is needed for 2010. The Annual Meeting will be held on October 26th. 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Rec.
HHBR will explore putting Senior Babe Ruth under our Board of Directors
Vin Murray, Bob Rodgers, Frank Jones and Elliot Sherman will be invited to the October Annual Meeting.
6. Managers/Coaches
6 out of 10 managers have the potential to come back
7. User Fees
The Rec Department has eliminated the charge of $5 per head and instituted an $8 per hour per field charge. Mark Thorell estimates that it will cost HHBR $1,000 more in user fees for 2009
