Meeting Minutes 1/25/09
The initial Board of Directors meeting for the 2009 season was held on January 25, 2009 at 800 Hingham Street, Rockland, MA. Those in attendance were: Mark Igo, Budd Thorne, Melissa Flanagan, Rob Blomberg, Hutchins, Colin Pomroy, Jim Trubia, and Leo Peloquin.

I. Registration
This year HHBR is debuting a discount for those who register for both the spring and summer seasons simultaneously. A draft of the proposed registration letter was reviewed. Mark Igo will e-mail the final version to Carol Ryan for mailing to all previously registered players and a list of the incoming 13 year olds will be obtained from Elliot Sherman for mailing.
There were 175 total players last year and it is anticipated that this year's numbers will run between 170-175 players. It is estimated that approximately 25 13 year olds will be playing from Hull.
Leo Peloquin will put a notice regarding registration in the Hingham Journal, Jim Trubia will put a notice in the Hull Times, Colin Pomroy will put a notice in the Middle School and St. Paul's newsletters and Budd Thorne will take registration forms to the Rec for access there. Mark Igo will run copies for the Rec access.

II. Fields
The annual general meeting for Rec fields will be held on February 5th. at 7 p.m. at the Rec.

III. Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Frank O'Brien was not present but Mark Igo had a balance of approximately $9,200 currently in the account.
$78.00 was returned for umpire money paid which was not eventually earned.

IV. Sponsors
A sponsorship payment from CATZ for last season was received and the SS Salem and Hingham Lumber still owe for last season's sponsorships. This will be followed up on.
Leo Peloquin will contact last year's sponsors to gauge their interest for the upcoming season.

V. Secretary's Report
The Charter and Insurance forms for Accident, Liability and Directors and Officers coverage were electronically completed. The invoice was forwarded to the Treasurer for payment of the annual premium which amounted to $2,984.00.

VI. Tournament and Summer Programs
Colin Pomroy and Bill Donovan are in charge of these programs which will again include the Budd Thorne Classic.
The Districts directors have indicated that they would again like Hingham to host the Districts tournament for the 14 year olds which was approved by the Board. It is intended to utilize the Rec Wagon this year for food and drinks for the Districts games.
Last summer there were 3 Districts teams, two 13s teams, two 14s teams and two 15s teams for the summer program.
It was agreed to continue to support the Pat White Tournament. Last year the cost of this was $400.

VII. By-laws
Updates to the By-laws include: Elliot Sherman, Player Agent, Rick Linehan, Scheduling, Rob Blomberg, Coaching Coordinator, Leo Peloquin, Publicity, Summer Tournament Directors, Colin Pomroy and Bill Donovan and Rich Magner, Umpires

VIII. Managers
Concern was expressed about the number of manager/coaches for this upcoming season as there was only one manager who had a 13 year old son for a player and most of the managers had 15 year old sons.

VIV. Equipment
Equipment/uniforms are still needed from Peloquin, Magner, Madden and Spirito. Melissa Flanagan has the missing vests from Madden's team and Bob Spirito had permission to retain his equipment. Peloquin's team- need to replace 1 shirt, Magner's team-missing 12 shirts, Madden's summer team-missing 5 vests, Spirito has all equipment and uniforms.
$12,000 was spent last year on equipment so there is no anticipated need for large equipment purchases this year.
12 plastic bins at a cost of $12 per bin was approved by the Board for equipment storage.

X. New Business
It was mentioned that the Rec Department is contemplating a $10 per player user fee which would encompass both the spring and summer seasons.
Hingham High School Baseball Clinics
The goal of this program is to raise funds in a fashion similar to the Hingham High School Harbormen Hoops Camps to be used for bullpen and warm-up areas at Cronin Field.

XI. Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on February 22nd. at 7 p.m. tentatively at 738 Main Street, Hingham. If 738 Main Street is not available, the meeting will be held at 800 Hingham St, Rockland, MA
