I. League Rules
a.The Slaughter/Mercy Rule was reiterated to ensure that the rule is clearly understood. The rule is that the slaugher rule applies after 4 1/2 innings if the home team is winning by 10 runs. After 5 innings, the slaughter rule still applies if a team is winning by 10 runs but each team has to have equal at bats.
b. 2 Hour Rule
The Board approved the addition of the following rule to the Local Rules: You cannot start an inning after 2 hours on weekends only whether there is a game immediately following your game or not.
c. All Managers must complete the Babe Ruth required on-line course and will be reimbursed for the cost of $19.95.

II. Summer Baseball
Teams are formed according to individual age groups. The "District" Team is the "A" team and there are also "B" teams at each age level. Last year for the 13s there was one A team and two B teams, for the 14s there was one A team and two B teams and for the 15s there was one A team and one B team. These teams play on Saturdays, Sundays and weekdays.
In order to be eligible for consideration for the Districts teams, a player must have played in 50% of the Spring season games. Play of even 1 inning constitutes a game appearance and the games for the Budd Thorne Tournament and playoffs count for the game attendance totals.
The Districts teams will be selected at the June 2nd. meeting of the Board of Directors via input from the Managers and Coaches and observations made at the Budd Thorne Classic Tournament over Memorial Day weekend in which the players play in individual age groups.
A mailing will be sent out describing the summer program, Districts eligibility requirements and the registation process. The registration fees will remain the same as last season, $125 for an individual player and $225 for 2 or more family members.
A check for $1,600 payable to Braintree Babe Ruth will be sent by the deadline of May 15th. to secure spots for 8 Hingham/Hull Summer teams.

III. Schedule
Each team should review their upcoming schedule to ensure that they still have the regulation number of regular season games as a number of games have had to be rescheduled due to rainouts.
The season, including playoffs, must be finished by June 15th.
The team scores and standings only will be submitted to the Hingham Journal by Leo Peloquin.

IV. Budd Thorne Classic
This annual tournament will be held from Friday - Sunday over Memorial day weekend. The Championship games will be played on Sunday at 11:30, 2:00 and 4:30. A league-wide e-mail will be sent out announcing this and will include information about the 50% game attendance requirement in order to be eligible for consideration for the Districts teams.
Bill Donovan, the BTC "Director", will contact the managers to get a list from them of their players who will be participating. He will then pass the list of participating players on to the coordinators for the individual age groups. The coordinators are: Leo Peloquin for the 15s, Rob Blomberg for the 14s and Colin Pomroy for the 13s.
It was decided that pizza from the Sub Galley will be delivered in 3 separate deliveries and will be served to the players at the conclusion of each Championship game on Sunday. Andy Mooradian at Monadnock Mountain Spring Water will be contacted about donating water.Mike Condon has had Budd Thorne Classic commemorative t-shirts printed and has the Bobbleheads which will be given out as the Championship trophies.
Players must wear their regular season team uniforms in the games.

V. Treasuer's Report
There is currently $23,247.00 in the account not including $800 recently received from Bare Cove Fire Museum for 2 years of sponsorship.
Anticipated expenses include: $1,300 for 31" bats, $450 to the School Department and $900 to the Rec for useage fees, $1,600 for Summer Baseball entry fees, $3,000 for the Budd Thorne Classic and $19.00 for reimbursement to the Managers for the on-line Babe Ruth required course.

VI. Field Useage
Babe Ruth was contacted by the Rec about a request they had received from a men's softball team to play at Cronin Field on Sunday mornings from May 25th. through the summer. Babe Ruth has the permit for this field during this time. Subsequent to the contact from Rec, a call was received from David Killory who was looking to clarify a report he received that Babe Ruth had pulled permits for the High School softball field. He was assured that Babe Ruth had not done so nor would it make any sense for Babe Ruth to do so. It is anticipated that the availability of the High School softball fields will alleviate the need to request the use of Cronin Field for softball. In the event that the request to use Cronin Field remains, it was determined by the Board that the dimensions of Cronin field would not be suitable to the field dimensions utilized by men's softball. As such, damage to Cronin Field would likely occur if men's softball is played on that field.

VII. Administration of Senior Babe Ruth and Legion teams
This will be discussed at the next meeting and Vin Murray will be invited to attend.

The next Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20th. at 8:00 p.m. at 738 Main Street.
