Meeting Minutes 5/20/08

I. Scheduling/Playoffs
After cross checking the Senior Babe Ruth and Legion schedules, it was determined that the playoffs will begin on Friday, June 6th. with the World Series starting on June 13th. and concluding on either June 15th. or 17th. depending on whether a third game is necessary. A detailed schedule will be posted on the website.
II. Summer baseball
The mailing for Summer baseball was sent out and has been received by a number of people. The Districts teams will be selected by only the Managers and Board Members at a meeting on June 4th. at 8:00 p.m. at 738 Main Street.
III. Treasurer's Report
There is currently $21,635.00 in the account. The following expenses need to be paid: $1,800 to Braintree Babe Ruth for 9 summer teams (3 in each age group), $450 to Bill Hess for adminstrative fees for Summer baseball and $1,080 for umpires for the Budd Thorne Classic Tournament.
IV. Budd Thorne Classic - Memorial Day Weekend
There will be (3) 13 yr. old teams, (3) 14 year old teams and (3) 15 year old teams. There is a 2 hour time limit on the games. Teams 1 and 2 in each age group will play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. with the 15s at Cronin, the 14s at the High School and the 13s at L Street in Hull. Team 3 in each age group will play double headers on Saturday against teams 1 and 2. On Saturday, the 15s are at Cronin at 9 and 11:30 a.m., the 14s are at the High School at 9 and 11:30 a.m. and the 13s are at the High School at 2 and 4:30 p.m. The Championship games will be played on Sunday at Cronin with the 13s playing at 9 a.m., the 14s at 11:30 a.m. and the 15s at 2:00 p.m.
The rosters for teams 1, 2 and 3 in each age group will be posted on the website by the night of Wednesday, May 21st. The schedule for each team is posted on the website under the Master Schedule. Additionally, all managers are to e-mail their players telling them to check the website for their schedule and to let them know to wear their full uniform for the games.
The 15 year old teams will be managed by Rich Magner, Jim Trubia and Leo Peloquin. The 14 year old teams will be managed by Rick Linehan, Bob Spirito and Ron Minassian. The managers for the 13 year old teams are TBD.
50 pizzas at a cost of $7 each from the Sub Galley will be delivered at staggered intervals to coincide with the end of each Championship game on Sunday and will be served by volunteers. 7 cases of water are being delivered by Monadnock Mountain Spring Water with 4 being donated and 3 being paid for by HHBR. The long tables at the Rec will be used to serve the pizza.
BTC commemorative t-shirts will be distributed to the players at their Saturday games by the individual age group coordinators.
